Meet Beau

Hey everyone. Meet Beau! Beau is one of our new black lab puppies. A layout of his sister Ruby will follow soon. Beau's page is based on the second October sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. I used Simple Stories' 'So Rad' pattern paper and letter/word sticker sheet. For the background I used a star stencil from The Crafters Workshop. Using a couple of different sized plastic containers, I stamped the circles and then added some splatters. The wood veneer stars are from Studio Calico. When the page was first completed it was on white cardstock. I wasn't completely happy with it, so I carefully covered the pattern paper and picture, and sprayed some ink on the background. Much happier with the yellow.

Below is the sketch. Don't forget to check out Stuck?!Sketches blog. A great place to get some inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Twenty Six

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the first October sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. For the last number of years instead of doing a "birthday" layout of my daughter, I decided to scrapbook a photo taken close to her birthday and title it with her age. This is a selfie she took before heading off to her part time job. The paper collection I used was My Mind's Eye 'My Story'. The flair button and gold butterfly button were also from this collection. For this layout I rotated the sketch to the left. For the background I sprayed some Art Anthology ink on my cardstock and then added two different colored splatters. The wood veneer pieces are from Teresa Collins. The flower pieces were cut from pattern paper.

Below is the sketch. Make sure to check out the blog at Stuck?!Sketches. There is a ton of inspiration there. Thanks for stopping by.

First Day

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the October sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The photo is of my niece and nephew on the first day of school. For this layout I rotated the sketch to the right. The pattern paper was from Echo Park Paper's 'Teacher's Pet' collection. For the background, I used as a mask, some maple leaves cut out from a die from Memory Box. Once the leaves were positioned I sprayed some distress stain over them, and added some splatters. I then added some more leaves that were cut out from pattern paper, and stitched them down. Very pleased with how this turned out!!

The other part of this challenge was to use metal on the layout. The metal I used was a large gold paper clip that I placed over my photo. I also cut out some of the little circles from the pattern paper and layered them to the left of my photo. I added some wood veneer pieces from Studio Calico and Teresa Collins.

Below is the sketch. Take a second to head over to Scrap Our Stash and see all the great inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Sunset

Hey everyone. It has been awhile but I am back and am hoping to post more regularly. This layout is based on My Creative Sketches September sketch. The photo was taken by a friend of my daughter's and is of her horse grazing after having a lesson. Love it!! I used Simple Stories' 'Summer Vibes' pattern paper. For the background I sprayed some ink around the upper edges and used a Tim Holtz stencil on the bottom. Using distress ink, I inked the edges and then added some splatters.

The wood veneer shapes and sequins are from Studio Calico. The hemp is from Lawn Fawn and the buttons came from a bottle of odd buttons on my shelf.
